The focus of my work is sound production. I push my students to analyze their playing and their sounds - even the youngest players in the earliest stages. M1 is by far the best marimba on the market. The resonance and projection is unrivaled and the tone of the bass register is extraordinary. Also, the One Vibe has a brilliant sound that can shine for solos and blend with ensembles. Currently, my favorite marimba mallets are the Wave Wrap series and I love the Round Sound collection for my younger students. The Kepley Studio Ensemble uses the Double Helix series as our ‘go-to’ mallets. The weight and articulation provide tone and clarity, and the varying degrees of hardness provide perfect options across the instrument
