For Marimba

February 08, 2020

For Marimba is the second installment of the Fresh Blood Project. This time, we will be showcasing music for marimba with local connections.

The program will feature music for piano, guitar, and orchestra transcribed and re-imagined for marimba.

It will also feature the world premiere of a new marimba solo composed by Winnipeg's own Rebeka Schroeder.

The show will feature some outstanding local performers:
Percussionist Sage Stoyanowski will be joining me at the marimba to play the music of Johannes Brahms.
I'm thrilled to work again with soprano Julia Davis, who will be singing music by Jean-Philipe Rameau.
I feel very fortunate to have another chance to collaborate with pianist Cary Denby, who join me to play music by Edvard Grieg.

I'm extremely excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with Winnipeg-based folk trio Casati, made of Grace Hrabi, Quintin Bart, and Jesse Popeski! We have some very beautiful ideas coming, and I promise you will love it.

Admission is $10 at the door.
