Conrado is from Alicante, Spain. At sixteen, Conrado turned to the marimba, taking lessons from international soloists Sisco Aparici in Valencia (Spain) and Katarzyna Myćka in Stuttgart (Germany). In 2011 he graduated honors.
In his young career, Conrado has already participated in numerous master classes with international marimba soloists, highlighting his participation in the International Katarzyna Myćka Marimba Academy.
He is co-founder of “WAVE Grup de Percussió”, created by his professor and international soloist Sisco Aparici, highlighting his performance in the International Festival of Contemporary Music in Sueca (Valencia) and premiering in Spain the piece Le Noir de l’Etoile by Gerard Grissey.
At the age of eighteen, Conrado performed his first concert as a marimba soloist with the Brahms Society Symphony Orchestra and since then he’s been performing as a marimbist in concerts halls of Spain, Germany and Switzerland amongst others, premiering pieces for marimba and working with new composers such as Marcus Paus, Karlos C. Seva, Jarrod Cagwin or Arkadiusz Kątny. Moreover he works as a soloist together with important orchestras as Symphonic Orchestra of Alicante and Symphonic Orchestra of Córdoba.
In 2007 he created a marimba duo together with the percussionist Adrián García, intending to contribute and boost the concert activity of the marimba on different stages and with important orchestras.
Due to his huge interest in the development of the marimba and its integration in the concert halls around the world, Conrado often creates new projects to offer the audience new impressions and feelings within the sphere of marimba. For example, he has carried out projects focusing on Baroque music, performing in the International Organ Festival in the city of Alcoy (Spain). Conrado also works in the contemporary repertoire with the soprano Luca Espinosa.
Furthermore, Conrado has worked in presentations of music-scene with prestigious stage directors such as Rafael Ricart and Andrés Moreno, as well as in concerts with famous marimba soloists such as “NEXEduet”, a marimba duo consisted of Sisco Aparici and Jordi Francés, or the international soloist Katarzyna Myćka.
Conrado has won awards and scholarships including the Music Performance Scholarship from Asociación Pro-Música Amadeo L. Sala, for his skill as a musician and his work and commitment to the future of the marimba.
Conrado won first price in the International Marimba Competition “Conucopercusión” in 2011.
Conrado Moya is co-founder of “Chain Marimba Trio”, an international marimba trio project, together with the marimbists Shoko Sakai (Japan) and Arkadiusz Kątny (Poland), doing regular tours in Spain, Germany, Poland and Italy.
