Angela Kepley teaches privately from her home studio in the suburbs of Chicago and works as a free-lance percussionist and pianist. She established a student percussion ensemble program in 2008 and composes regularly for the group. Angela works as the percussion specialist for Lyons Township High School and Gurrie Middle School and frequently collaborates with other local music programs. Angela has also spent significant time teaching and arranging for high school drumlines.
Angela Kepley, along with her percussion partner, Brian Wach, co-founded the Double Resonance Percussion Duo. With the goal of spreading percussion awareness and education to people of all ages and to create and share new percussion works, Double Resonance performs and educates through the means of recitals, school assemblies, private events, and lessons. Every summer they host the Double Resonance Percussion Ensemble Camp as well as additional group classes.
Angela is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and has performed at PASIC and the IL Day of Percussion. Angela holds degrees from Millikin University and Northern Illinois University in music education and percussion performance. Angela Kepley is proud to endorse marimba one™.
“The focus of my work is sound production. I push my students to analyze their playing and their sounds - even the youngest players in the earliest stages. Marimba one™ is by far the best marimba on the market. The resonance and projection is unrivaled and the tone of the bass register is extraordinary.” ~Angela Kepley
